The research is titled Falsities of the people of the Book mentioned in Qur’an and the Position of Islam on them. It comprises of five chapters. Chapter one includes an introduction, problem statement, reasons for choosing the topic, significance of the study, research methodology, etc. The research problem lies in exposing the extremism of the people of the book (the Jews and Christians), where the former alleged that Ezra is a son of God and the later alleged that Messiah is a son of God, their allegations that Jesus and his mother Mary are deities besides God, and their allegation that they are the favourite children of God, among other allegations. The research therefore aimed at refuting those falsities and explaining the Islamic position on those falsities. The research used a descriptive method using the inductive and deductive tools based on the study of Qur’an and Sunnah and the views in the books of exegesis of Qur’an. The second Chapter addressed the definition of Jews, the various names given to them, descriptions, attributes and favours as mentioned in Qur’an. The third Chapter addressed the concept of trinity, the Sonship of Ezra and the Messiah, the allegations of Godship of rabbis and Monks and the allegation of killing Jesus. The fourth Chapter addressed the position of Islam on the above allegations and attributing poverty to God and their exclusive right to paradise and their description of the prohibited and permissible. The research ended with major findings such as: The holly Qur’an exposed the falsities, dangers and interests of the people of the book, where Qur’an 5:82 described the Jews as the major enemies of Muslims. The research also recommended that there is need to be concerned with the history of the Jews and Christians in order to understand and beware of their dangersen_US
